The FAFSA, Free Application for Federal Student Aid, form completion is required to qualify for federal student aid, including federal grants, work-study funds, and loans. Completing and submitting the form is completely free, and it offers you the most extensive assistance available to support your college or career school expenses. It allows you to assess your chances of receiving grants, loans, and can even help you secure scholarships.

THE SUBMISSION PROCESS

First, schools and college lists should be narrowed down to be able to be put on the FAFSA form. U.S. identification, tax information from the student's parent(s), and school transcripts are required for submission. Once information is submitted and the ED has processed it, student information will be sent to the colleges or career schools listed. Typically, colleges and vocational schools will only issue and send financial aid offers to students who fulfill their eligibility criteria and have finished the required procedures with their school's financial aid office.

FAFSA Process

Even if you believe you are not eligible for financial aid, filling out your FAFSA application can also increase your chances of receiving scholarships and securing more favorable loans that can still benefit you, so don't hesitate to give it a try.
